What to Expect at Your Appointment
During your initial appointment, the veterinary internist will examine your pet, obtain a detailed history from you, review any medical records, laboratory results and radiographs (x-rays) from your family veterinarian, and evaluate current and recent medications. After completing this, the specialist will offer you a plan of diagnostic testing with an estimate of costs. After discussion and approval by you, the diagnostic testing and any indicated treatment can begin.
